Privacy policy
SeniorAssistedLiving.com is a free directory of senior living and care communities. You can read every page on this site without giving us your name, your email address, or any detail about yourself or your relative. This page explains the little we do collect, and why.
Last updated 29 July 2026.
What we don't collect
We have no accounts, no sign-in, and no contact or enquiry forms. We never ask for health information, and we do not record what you type. We do not sell or share data with advertisers or lead-generation brokers, and we take no payment from the communities listed here in exchange for a listing or its position.
When you contact a community — by phone, by their website, or by booking a tour — you leave this site and deal with that provider directly. We are not party to that conversation and receive nothing back from it. Their own privacy practices apply, not ours.
Analytics
We use PostHog to understand which parts of the directory people find useful, so we know where to add communities and what to fix. Data is processed on PostHog's servers in the United States.
Those measurements are sent to t.seniorassistedliving.co, a
subdomain of this site that passes them on to PostHog. We should be
straightforward about why: requests to a subdomain of the site you are
already on are not blocked by the tracker-blocking lists that would stop a
request to PostHog directly, so this keeps our page-popularity numbers
usable. It collects nothing extra — the same short list below, and nothing
that identifies you — and the "Your choices" section explains how to stop
it if you would rather not be counted.
Our setup is deliberately narrow. Session recording, heatmaps and autocapture — the features that would log your clicks, mouse movement and the content of pages you visit — are all switched off. We record only a page view and this fixed list of actions:
- Submitting the search on the homepage, and which location or care type you chose
- Opening a community's profile, or a care-type listing page
- Clicking through to a community from a card in a listing
- Clicking a community's phone number, website, map, virtual tour, or tour-booking link
- Clicking the "Start your search" button in the advisor section
Each of those records the community or page involved, plus the standard technical details any web request carries: a rough location derived from your IP address (country, region, city — the IP itself is not stored), your browser and device type, and the page that referred you. They are not linked to a named person, because we never learn who you are.
Cookies and local storage
PostHog sets a first-party cookie and a matching entry in your browser's local storage. It holds a random identifier that lets us tell a returning visit from a new one, so a single person browsing ten communities isn't counted as ten people. It contains nothing about you and is not readable by other sites. We set no advertising or tracking cookies of any kind.
Server logs
This site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps short-lived request logs (including IP addresses) to serve pages and defend against abuse. That is ordinary infrastructure logging, and we do not use it for analytics.
Your choices
You can block or clear the analytics cookie in your browser settings at any time; the site works exactly the same without it.
Because we send measurements through our own subdomain (see Analytics
above), a general-purpose tracker blocker will not always catch them. To
opt out reliably, block t.seniorassistedliving.co in your
blocker or your hosts file, or turn on "Do Not Track" — we honour it. The
site is fully usable either way, and nothing about the pages you see
changes.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of your data, its correction, or its deletion. Because we hold no information that identifies you, there is usually nothing for us to look up — but if you believe we do hold something about you, get in touch and we'll act on it.
Children
This directory is intended for adults researching care for themselves or a family member. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect, we'll update this page and the date above before the change takes effect.
